Shit's expensive.

Not about Silvia's, just imported cars. Not saying that happens to everybody.

On my Silvia, I had to do a LHD comversion, had to switch to pop-up lights, swap in a KA24E and Steal the VIN tag from a 240SX. But then I realized I had taken a VIN tag from a hatchback, so I had to swap out the rear end for a hatch and hatch lights. It was a pain in the ass, but at least I knew I had a REAL Silvia. It was so sick. It was fast as hell too. I did the quarter mile.

So how come you had to do a LHD conversion? What else did you have to do to make it legal? I know windsheild but what else?

He lives in japan in the air force so when he bought it over there he doesn't have to stick us rules

Oooh. I see now.

Hmmm. Well, how much do you want to spend? I may be able to help you get one registered, and if you want me to shop around, I can probably get you a car as well. Word of warning though, it isn't cheap to own a Silvia.

Windshield? Who told you the windshield would be ilegal? I've never had an inspector even look further than making sure there were no cracks. Utah isn't California yet. Just get the car and fudge inspection and emissions.

I agree with Sir Puttingham though, just get a 240. Then when you crash it, you won't have to go looking for that hard-to-find RHD steering rack and what not.

unless we were talking about wheels. real jdm wheels... nevermind. jdm wheels suck too. but after market japanese wheels could kill you with a look.

along with german aftermarket wheels.

but yes. if you get a silvia it will be a complete waste of money. you could build or buy a us 240 that is way better for the same price. and when you wreck it you wont have to spend double the money to fix it.

and you will wreck it.

unless youre a pussy and wont drive it. then its worthless anyway.

if you import a car get something awesome that doesnt have an equivalent in the us. like a jzx90. or an s15. or a mark 2. something awesome.

an s13 is just that. an old junky s13 that people buy to drive hard and wreck and not have to worry too much.

Just buy a 240 with all that shit either done to it or do it yourself to a nearly stock one. It'll be easier and cheaper plus you wont have to worry about dealing with rhd on lhd roads.

Non turbo???
Dumb.
If you're going to go through all the hassle just buy a Turbo one. I wouldn't spend assloads of money to get a car into the states that would still need $3K of work and parts just to make it driveable.

Just me though.
Although I'll have my RHD hachi in a few months so I'm one to talk haha Rolling Eyes

Don't do it.

Think about getting rear ended in a REAL silvia.

Just get a 240. When it gets rear ended, get a new shell for $200.

Done. Make it look like your brother's if you please!

umm. you know your brothers is stock right? looks stock.

and if you buy a non turbo one you are just dumb. seriously.

you can find silvias in the states you know. its going to cost you like 5k to import one. at very least.

just save your money and buy one from someone in cali or something. dont import it yourself. especially of it the one you are looking at. that shits lame.

Sunken wheels and all, or just the Silvia front? Sunken wheels are SUPER SUPER cheap so that part is easy. The Silvia front can be had for $800 (as per Tekamen's post the other day.

Have your bro find a Front Left power window switch from an A31 Cefiro.

Also, it's expensive to import cars. Trust me.

people have done it but generally it'll be a lot more difficult than a 240 because of an older more beat up car and having a lot less power available.

do the z. those are awesome. they handle real well. so fun to slide. do it do it.

they dont have much power. but you can fix that easy. they handle soooo good.

the one i slide was a 240zx. so it was carbed. with a smaller engine. it kept the wheels spinning. drives like if a ae86 and s13 had a baby.

there is plenty of aftermarket support for them. techno toy tuning actually just came out with some suspension parts that look amazing.

and you would have enough power at first to make the car slide. just get a 240 like everyone else. and then when you know how to slide it and end up wrecking it beyond repair by doing something awesome. buy something more awesome.

unless you are planning on not drifting. then buy a civic.

I meant suspension and things that matter actually. Why are you worried about motor swaps when you were about to buy a non turbo silvia anyway?

Let me refer you to utahnissans.com those guy's will love you.

Just buy my car.

I have a full s13 (not put together yet but all there) with a turbo motor.

Then you'll have your JDM tyte Silvia and I'll have money to buy an Integra with underglow.
